The trail will better connect residents to the places they live, work and gather. It will create safer, more accessible connections across Upper Merion Township, Norristown Borough, Bridgeport Borough, Lower Providence Township, Tredyffrin Township, Upper Providence Township and West Norriton Township.

Regional Trail Connections
The Valley Forge Gateway Trail will be a critical link in the Circuit Trails network, expanding regional access and helping knit southeastern Pennsylvania together through trails and active transportation routes.
Future Trail Connections
Over the past decade, Upper Merion Township/King of Prussia (UMT/KOP) has undergone remarkable growth, including major strides in pedestrian and bicycle connectivity and mobility. In 2010, Upper Merion’s trail network included only a few disconnected segments of the Schuylkill River Trail and trails in Valley Forge National Historical Park. Today, the Township features a connected and expanding system that includes the Schuylkill River Trail West, Chester Valley Trail Extension, Crow Creek Trail, First Avenue Linear Park and new segments of the Circuit Trail network.
